New Haven Pulse

There’s a lot that’s said and written about teens in New Haven: about their dropout rate, violent behavior, and general apathy. But for every story that fits those narratives, there are countless others more closely grounded in the reality of our community that better tell the complex story of growing up here. New Haven Pulse reporters are students from across New Haven who offer a concerted counter-narrative to public perception and media portrayals about who they are. They are rewriting the narrative on a Web site that will host a range of news and opinion articles by and for New Haven youth. The site is managed by students in the journalism class at High School in the Community with contributions from students at high schools around the city.
